Tasting Note

2012 ‘Perfect Day’ Sauvignon Blanc + Semillon

79% Karridale Sauvignon Blanc, 21% Karridale Semillon

100% Karridale, Margaret River, WA

70% tank fermented with full solids, 30% barrel ferment with wild yeast; aged on lees for 5 months.

The Karridale subregion is home to the finest Sauvignon Blanc grapes in Margaret River. Crisp higher natural acids; aromatic citrus fruit profiles; extended slower ripening and more fruit intensity: what’s not to like?

Semillon has always colluded with Savvy. Our choice of Karridale Semillon is due to its lemon pith midpalate and racy mineral acidity that complements and extends the punchy Sauvignon profile.

The 2012 Perfect Day is seductive; alluring citrus pith, dried herb and passionfruit aromas open up to reveal some complexity from the natural ferment, lees work and barrel aging. A beautifully poised palate balances crunchy fruit with a mealy texture and integrated acidity. Flint, lemon and great length typify the profile of this exciting SBS blend showcasing the Karridale sub region at its most potent.
